We're very stoked to introduce our new band mates Kristen Wells on bass and Kyle Smith on drums. So happy to be rocking n' rolling with a full line up again. Our first show will be June 13 at May in Toronto for NXNE. After that we'll be back on the road for some summer tour dates throughout Eastern Canada with our label mates Verse The Sun. Full details on that tour coming soon. To celebrate the new line up we'll be giving away all our music free for one week on bandcamp. For Record Store Day 2013 we're going to be releasing a limited edition version of our Monsters 7" on Strange Blood Records. Limited to 100 copies, these are pressed on white vinyl and packaged in hand-pulled screen printed fold over jackets done by Alex at Fish Bone Prints. A full list of record stores carrying the release is available below (Eastern Canada only, sorry.). If you were unaware, Record Store Day is on April 20th this year. Some bands have guitar as their strongest instruments, some drums. Bloody Diamonds takes a different approach with (believe it or not) the bass as its driving force. Even stranger than that… It works! This slightly distorted lead bass sound by Jake combined with Sara’s vocals give them a sound that can only be called their own. I've never heard anyone else sing like Sara, being able to hit all the challenging notes and still being able to scream like an 80’s hair metal star when she feels fit. - Maritime Vinyl

Starting next month we'll be hitting the road for a tour across Eastern Canada as a two piece, with our stripped down and grunged up duo set. On March 12th we will be releasing a new 7" vinyl called Monsters on Strange Blood Records. We recorded it with Andrew Wiseman in his home studio during some downtime in Toronto on the last tour. The single "Monsters" along with a new video will be released in the next few weeks. Pre-orders of the vinyl are available here, starting now. Be sure to check out the sweet album artwork done by Halifax's own Fish Bone Prints and stay tuned for more updates. We're going to be hitting the road heavy this spring. See you all then.

We are sorry to announce that Kenny and Ian have left the band, they've decided to move on and pursue other projects. Be sure to check out Kenny's other band, Halifax metal gods Black Moor, and anyone who has ever seen live music in Halifax has probably already seen Ian shred in countless bands of pretty much every genre. We'd like to give a huge thank you to these guys for the time we've spent together, the jokes, and the music. The band wouldn't be the same without them. We're currently in the process of putting together a new line up, but in the mean time we are going to be doing some shows stripped down as a two piece. We've been been working on a killer new set with lots of new tunes so be sure to come check it out. We have some shows coming up in the Maritimes throughout the winter and a full eastern Canada tour booked for the spring, that we will be doing as a duo as well. Also, we have a new 7" coming out on Strange Blood Records. More details soon!

Tour is officially over. Hard to believe we were on the road for that long, feels like yesterday we were packing up the van and leaving Halifax. We wanted to say thank you sooo much to everyone for everything. Thank you to all the promoters, bar owners, and awesome sound techs we had the pleasure of working with. Thanks you to all the amazing bands we had the opportunity to play with. To all the awesome people that gave us places to stay and meals to eat. To all the people that bought a CD or a T-Shirt, you have no idea how much that helps, and we thank you so much. Recorded in 2011 in what Seaward describes as a “professional basement”, the band’s freshman album has taken them on a great adventure to date. Andrew Wiseman, a friend of the band, first recorded the quartet in Halifax, N.S. using multi-track. Bloody Diamonds was later “super stoked” to be nominated for “Loud Recording of the Year” during Nova Scotia Music Week in Liverpool, NS. The raw, country sense of the tracks on They’ve Got Secrets really caught my ear. A variety of sounds shows the band’s influences, and their home-style sense of country and pure Canadiana rock really comes out in the album. What started as a musical pet project quickly grew into a full-fledged band and after a successful 21 date eastern Canadian tour as well as their debut release on vinyl and CD by Strange Blood Records, Halifax rock-quartet Eliza and the Strange renamed to Bloody Diamonds. That also resulted in the release of a new music video for their song 'Baby Don't Be Nice' which demonstrates considerable depth in talent with Sara Elizabeth’s edgy vocals. The show opened with Lady of the Night and quickly traipsed into She Ain’t Pretty. No, this song is NOT a cover of the Northern Pikes song. This is a strong rocker with intense vocals. Take a gander of the video to see how this song wraps around the topic. The energy of Seaward and White on stage is wonderful to watch. The backing rhythms are strong and the lead guitar was strong. Eliza can play the organ very well and it fills out the sound. But, it is the vocals that draw this band apart from other similar bands. Her voice is very strong and the lyrics are dark and foreboding. My biggest regret was that I had to leave with two songs to go. But I was fortunate to have heard two of my favourites from the album, White Lies and Twisted. The version of Twisted was powerful and driving.
